Te Whatu Ora bargaining update 28 February 2023
In the morning we had Marie Jones (NZNO's CCDM Lead) give an excellent presentation on how ratios act as a safety net in conjunction with CCDM and that this is proven to improve both patient outcomes and job satisfaction.
Whilst Te Whatu Ora (HNZ) accepted the data results it appears they have no resolve to introduce the staffing safety net based on minimum staffing ratios.
We also went through the expired MECA and identified changes required to reflect that there is now only one employer. HNZ was asked to produce anticipated costings for our Nurse In Charge claim for our meeting next month. Further discussion occurred regarding a training timeframe for Health and Safety Reps.
As mentioned yesterday, Te Whatu Ora (HNZ) has declined to make a formal pay offer.
